These fittings are far more hygienic than the plastic SAFE-T BUMPERS and they stabilize the toilet seat by fixing the source of the problem, the loose hinge. They are also cheaper and easier to fit, no drilling required and you only need a pair of pliers to fit these rubbers. FULL FITTING INSTUCTIONS ARE SENT WITH EACH PURCHASE.
HOW DO THESE RUBBER FITTINGS WORK. Toilet seats become loose because the holes in the toilet bowl are far bigger than the metal rods that fit through them, which means that the rods, and hence the hinges and seat, have room to move about. These rubber fittings are squeezed into the gaps between the rods and toilet bowl by tightening the METAL nuts underneath the toilet pan. This eliminates any possible movement of the hinge, AND HENCE THE SEAT. These rubber fittings are designed to fit any METAL TOILET SEAT HINGE which fits on the ceramic toilet bowl by a METAL threaded rod passing through a hole in the toilet bowl and tightening up from underneath the bowl. If the existing nuts are plastic then metal ones can be purchased from one of my other Amazon listings which is a kit including the metal fixings. You will not be able to tighten plastic nuts enough to compress the rubber fittings.
PLEASE CHECK THAT ANY MOVEMENT OF THE SEAT IS NOT DUE TO PLAY WITHIN THE HINGE ITSELF This would require new hinges. Providing your hinges are in good condition and the threaded rods are TIGHT into the hinges, or are an integral part of the hinge, then these fitting never fail to work.
