This product is aimed at the refurbishment of all manual radiator valve caps, 15mm or 1/2″ Valves, that are found in the home and other premises. NB! not suitable for micro-bore systems.

Depending on the age of your heating system it will have radiators fitted with 2 manual valves (one with a Wheelhead and one with a Lockshield cap) or 1 thermostatic valve and 1 manual valve (with a Lockshield cap).

Wheelhead caps are designed to operate the valve whereas the Lockshield caps are deliberately designed NOT to allow the valve to be adjusted, turned on or off. This is generally a problem if you want to remove the radiator to decorate.

An exposed valve spindle (a valve without a cap on it), is a recognised HSE Hazard. Radiators in Schools and public buildings are a particular issue.
